It looks like everyone is on the same page in stopping rumors that quarterback Kyler Murray could be traded by the Cardinals.
On the same day that GM Steve Keim said there was no chance Murray would be traded and Murray tweeted that he wants the Cardinals to win the Super Bowl, the team’s owner Michael Bidwill also chimed in.
“Yes, that will not happen‘ Bidwill said of a potential trade via Arizona Republic’s Kent Somers. “There’s just too much outside noise for people to listen to. We understand that this is just part of what is happening with social media these days. It just isn’t the case.”
There is no higher authority in the organization than Bidwill. So unless he wants Murray traded — if the Cardinals exercise Murray’s fifth-year option, he’ll be signed through 2023 — Murray isn’t going anywhere.
But it’s also worth noting that Murray doesn’t seem to want out of Arizona either.
While the Cardinals and Murray’s representative have yet to reach an agreement, it now seems a question of when they won’t.
