Michael Bolton revealed he was diagnosed with brain cancer just before the holidays, requiring him to undergo “immediate surgery.”
The 70-year-old “When A Man Loves A Woman” singer, who recently appeared on “The Masked Singer” early last year, took to his Facebook page on Friday and opened up to his fans about his health.
He began: “First of all, I would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year! I would also like to share that 2023 has presented me with some completely unexpected challenges.”
“Shortly before the holidays it was discovered that I had a brain tumor that required immediate surgery.”
The star then positively added: “Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success. “I am now recovering at home and surrounded by the enormous love and support of my family.”

Bolton stated that he would be “devoting my time and energy to my recovery” and “taking a temporary break from touring.”
“For me, disappointing my fans or postponing a show is always the hardest thing, but I have no doubt that I am working hard to speed up my recovery and get back to performing soon.”
The performer expressed that he is “extremely grateful for all the love and support you have so generously shown me over the years.”
Finally, Michael added, “Know that I keep your positive messages in my heart, and I will give you more updates as soon as possible. “Love always, MB.”
Social media users jumped into the comments section to share their love and well wishes for the singer-songwriter as he focuses on his recovery.
According to the singer's official website, the Go The Distance hitmaker has various tour dates planned throughout 2024, with concerts originally scheduled to begin on February 1 in Florida.
The star had a busy 2023, including an appearance as a wolf in “The Masked Singer” and also appeared during the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade last month in December, according to The US Sun.
