Michael Caine announces he is officially retiring at the age of 90

The veteran star Michael Caine confirmed that he is officially retiring at the age of 90 and has enjoyed a career spanning seven decades. The actor confirmed his next film, The great refugee, it will be the last one. This is the second time the actor has announced his retirement. The first was in 2021.

“I keep saying I’m retiring. Well, I am now,” he said in an interview with BBC Radio [via Deadline]. “I had a film where I played the protagonist and I got incredible reviews… What am I going to do to overcome this?” he continued.

Caine explains that there is a lack of roles for actors his age: “The only roles I can get now are men who are 90. Or maybe 85. They won’t play leading roles. At 90 there will be no more male leads.”, you will have pretty boys and girls. . So I figured I might as well get away with anything.”
