Michael Mando Fired After On-Set Incident From Apple TV+’s Sinking Spring; Wagner Moura Joins Drama in Recast

According to , Michael Mando has been fired from the Apple TV+ series Sinking Spring after an incident on the set.

The Better Call Saul alum “was fired from the show after clashing with a co-star” on the set of the upcoming drama series, per THR. The producers initially tried to smooth things over, but ultimately they decided to let Mando go and recast the role. Wagner Moura (Narcos) will now play the role that Mando was supposed to play. (Apple has yet to confirm the dismissal or rewrite.)

Sinking Spring, starring Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta), revolves around a group of friends from Philadelphia “who pose as DEA agents to rob an undisclosed country home for the sole purpose of their little prank into a life-and-death enterprise.” to let them unknowingly unveil and unravel the largest hidden drug corridor on the East Coast,” reads the official description. Mando was set to play Manny, a friend of Henry’s character since they spent time together in juvenile authority. The cast also includes Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Amir Arison, Ving Rhames and Dustin Nguyen.

Mando starred in Better Call Saul as petty criminal Nacho Varga for six seasons; The series ended last year. His other TV appearances include Orphan Black and Covert Affairs.
