He traveled to Austria to get in shape and after various tests he was told to stop eating apples.
He claims he is now afraid to eat the fruit, which he was told would make him “lethargic” and “confused.”
But although he has successfully lost weight, now back in the UK he is finding it difficult to keep the weight off because his wife Kitty prefers “Teddy Bear Michael”.
He told The Sun: “I went to this clinic called the Mayr Clinic and lost some weight which I kept off for a while.”
“It was a week of pain and they did all these tests on me, putting little probes on the tip of my tongue and telling me not to eat apples.”
“Apparently apples make my brain very lethargic and confused. “It's really the only thing I took away from it.”
He added that he has since gained back the weight he lost and has also developed a fear of apples.

Michael further said that his wife doesn't like him losing weight, which is why he doesn't always feel motivated to do so.
He joked that it would be a lot easier to shift the pounds if “she was pretty rude to me about my weight.”
The joker said: “She wants the teddy bear Michael, not the racing snake Michael, the man she met for the first time.”
“She asked, 'Who is this? Who is this insanely hot, chiseled man in front of me?” She didn't like it. That was pretty demotivating.'
