Despite her past insistence on not running for the White House, Michelle Obama is a “completely plausible” candidate for 2024, said a former Trump aide
A former employee of the Trump administration this weekend pointed to the possibility of Michelle Obama next president Joe Biden as the Democratic Party’s candidate for 2024, warning that the former first lady will be a great opponent of the Republican Party.
“If [Democrats] had to be ruled by Michelle Obama, that would put us in a very difficult position, “said former Trump aide Monica Crowley at the Orlando Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday.
“They would reach out to a candidate who is completely credible, very popular and immune to criticism.”
Crowley, who was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs under Donald Trumpappeared in a panel discussion with former White House physician Ronnie Jackson, Conservative activist Jack the Ripper and California attorney Kurt Schlichter during the multi-day event.
After tossing the hat of the popular First Lady of the Democrats in the ring, Crowley explained how Obama would position herself to run for the White House in the years since her husband Barack Obama left the White House in early 2017.
“When you think about her positioning, she spoke like [Democratic National Convention] keynote speaker in 2020, ”said Crowley.
“She wrote her resume and toured 50 cities, has huge deals with Netflix and Spotify, and has a voting group with Stacey Abrams.”
Obama’s memoir “Becoming” sold more than two million copies in various forms within 15 days of publication, quickly becoming a bestseller.
This is proof of the popularity of Harvard lawyer education, especially among Democrats.

She previously served as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Department under Donald Trump (pictured with Donald Trump Jr.) (left) and former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows (right).
She was voted the most admired woman in the YouGov global survey for three consecutive years, last winning No. 1 in December 2021.
And while Obama has publicly rejected the idea of running for her husband’s old job, a recent Hill-HarrisX poll put her at the top of the list of potential candidates in 2024 if Biden decides not to run.
The president, who has so far said he is running for re-election, will turn 81 at the beginning of his second term.
A poll in late November 2021 found Obama second on the list of likely candidates for Democrats, just behind Vice President Kamala Harris.
But on Saturday, a former Trump aide to Crowley highlighted Harris’s first blunder. According to Business Insider, she suggests that Obama would be a good alternative to not alienating black women, among the most loyal Democratic voters.
Obama has long been admired by Democrats and even independents, and would receive immediate recognition for the name if he ran for 2024.
Despite her insistence that she would not run, Crowley warned her audience at the Republican event to be ready and compared Obama’s activism to improving the profile that brought her back to the public eye after leaving the White House with Hillary Clinton’s actions. – another hearing potential candidate for 2024
“For all these people who say, ‘Michelle Obama is not political, they’re making too much money now,’ follow her very closely, because her trajectory is exactly what Barack Obama did before he ran for president and what Bill and Hillary Clinton did it, “Crowley said.
She reaffirmed: “I think if she runs, it will be a very difficult situation for us.”
Obama said famously at a leadership conference in Boston in 2018 that in order to run for president, “I guess you have to want the job first.”
She went even further to say that she “never had a passion for politics”, adding: “I accidentally married someone who has a passion for politics, and he drugged me to kick and scream in the arena.”
But despite her aversion to running for office, Obama has taken to the political arena several times for a warm welcome.
Obama was seen as a key asset to her husband’s successful presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012, including a high-profile speech at the 2008 National Democratic Congress.
She also delivered a passionate speech in support of Biden in 2020, saying he was the only one who could “end this chaos” of the Trump administration.
Most recently, Obama entered the midterm elections in November, throwing his strong influence and his group when we all vote behind efforts 1 million new people for the ballot this year.
In late December, a potential Obama 2024 campaign received support from a unlikely ally – podcast host Joe Rogan.
“She’s great, articulate, intelligent, she’s the wife of the best president we’ve ever had,” Rogan said. “She can win.”
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump has set a marker for other possible Republican athletes in 2024, winning 59 percent support from CPAC participants.
The annual straw poll is seen as a key indicator of who is preferred by the party base.
A survey of 2,500 participants found that the most popular candidates occupy the same political territory as Trump – like allies Mike Pompeo, Rand Paul and Christie Noem
Trump’s victory came as no surprise – but he took five percentage points more than last year – with Gov. Ron DeSantis, who delivered an exciting speech at Thursday’s rally, second with 28 percent.
That left the rest of the field as outsiders, with former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo taking two percent and Vice President Mike Pence taking one percent, along with Nicki Haley, South Dakota Gov. Christie Noem and Senators Ted Cruz and Rand Paul.
But the CPAC’s status as a gathering of hardline conservatives tends to skew results for the party’s trump wing.
If Trump did not run, DeSantis takes 61 percent.
And the Republican Party already benefits from the chances of Michelle Obama being their opponent.
Two January fundraising emails from the National Republican Senate Committee were sent to donors advertising the possibility of a new Obama in the White House.
“Left Democrats KNOW they will LOSE their majority in Congress this November, so they want to bring Obama out to save them in 2024,” said an email from Punchbowl News.
The second reads: “Rumors are spreading like wildfire that a certain person, someone who has already spent 8 YEARS in the White House, is thinking of running for president in 2024.”
