Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy’s girlfriend was apparently petted by his father during the Wolverines’ heartbreaking loss to TCU in the semifinals of the College Football Playoffs on Saturday.
As McCarthy and the Wolverines attempted a comeback against the Horned Frogs in the third quarter, ESPN’s cameras panned to the crowd where his girlfriend Katya Kuropas was celebrating a Michigan touchdown.
At that moment, JJ’s father, Jim, seemed to slide his right hand up Kuropas’ bottom as she hugged another happy Wolverines fan. Jim McCarthy also appeared to jab her bottom with his left hand before ESPN cameras cut back to the on-field celebration.

As several fans noted, Kuropas had her phone in her back pocket when Jim McCarthy showed up to make contact with her butt
“JJ McCarthy losing this game only to get into the locker room and see his phone explode with videos of his dad touching his girlfriend is nightmarish stuff,” wrote a fan of rival Ohio State Buckeyes on Twitter . ‘Disgusting. An absolutely uncomfortable watch. I wanted to crawl out of my skin when I saw the replay.
As several fans noted, Kuropas had her phone in her back pocket when Jim McCarthy showed up to make contact with her butt.
“Imagine being JJ McCarthy’s father and risking everything just to slide your finger over an iPhone?” wrote a fan on Twitter.
Kuropas appeared to be hanging out with several members of the McCarthy family, presumably because she has been dating the 19-year-old quarterback for several years.
