In addition to halting new sales, Microsoft is suspending many aspects of its business in Russia in line with government sanctions, said company president Brad Smith.

Technology companies have also intervened in recent days to curb Russian state media, including RT and Sputnik, in response to government demands and calls to prevent the spread of Russian propaganda. Russia called its actions in Ukraine a “special operation.”
