Spring worthy
Coming from Colorado and arriving in Quebec later Tuesday, the system will have the air of April: it will be accompanied by a remarkably mild burst of air. By the middle of the week, temperatures in the south are likely to exceed 10 degrees Celsius or even touch 15 degrees Celsius in some places.
Almost all of Quebec will be in the rain. However, models do not yet agree on the exact amounts to expect depending on the region, but those receiving the most water are north of the St. Lawrence River.
Accumulations of up to 50 mm may occur locally between Tuesday and Thursday.
It will blow your mind
The disturbance will produce winds that are not easy: They will blow at speeds between 30 and 50 km/h and gusts could reach 80 km/h at times on Wednesday, mainly along the St. Lawrence River.
Winter finale
Make no mistake, the system does not mark the end of winter: behind the cold front comes a cold wave that creates quite a contrast. Low temperatures in southern Quebec could reach -10°C overnight from Wednesday to Thursday.
This is a drop in temperature of more than 20 °C in less than 24 hours. However, this burst of cold air will be short-lived as the mercury is expected to rise above freezing on Friday.
