Yemen's Houthi forces fired three rockets at ships in the Red Sea. This was said by White House National Security spokesman John Kirby. “The Houthis fired three missiles at two merchant ships in the southern Red Sea,” adding that “one missile missed its target” and “the other two were shot down by a U.S. Navy destroyer.”
Kirby added: “This obviously shows that the Houthis still intend to carry out these attacks, which means of course we have to do everything we can to protect these shipments.” US Central Command said the missiles were “targeted at the bottom “US-flagged container ship M/V Maersk Detroit” was fired, but did not mention the second target ship. There were no reports of injuries or damage to the ship.
