Foti (Fdi): “A confirmation, if we ever needed it, of the foresight and concreteness of the measures taken by the Meloni government to combat illegal immigration.”

The German Chancellor Olaf Scholz commented on the agreement on migrants reached between them Italy And Albania. “It is a question between the two governments, but it must also be borne in mind that, in our opinion, Tirana will soon become a member of the European Union,” said the German Chancellor on the sidelines of the EU Social Democrats Congress in Malaga. “We talk about how we can solve challenges and problems together, we want to establish a solidarity mechanism,” he added. Regarding the viability of the model, Scholz said: “We will follow it closely.” The key is: “Don’t try to master challenges alone.”

“Working with non-EU countries against illegal immigrants” “It is necessary to reduce irregular immigration. There will be close cooperation with countries outside the EU. Like now with Turkey. But there could be others on the way,” the Chancellor continued. “In this situation there is nothing that cannot be taken into account. We have to act very pragmatically and efficiently,” said Scholz again.

Italy-Albania Protocol The pact between Italy and Albania provides for the establishment of two centers under Italian jurisdiction on the territory of the Balkan country: the first will be located in the port of Shengjin and will serve as a reception center; while the second will be a structure very similar to a Repatriation Holding Center (CPR) and will be located in Gjader.

The case of Rama and the European socialists The agreement between Rome and Tirana has become a political case that goes far beyond Italian borders. And above all, it has become a hot topic within the European Socialist Party (PES). A large part of the Social Democrats did not like the agreement signed by Edi Rama and Giorgia Meloni at all. And someone went a step further and effectively called for a suspension of the PSSH (the Albanian leader’s formation), which sits as an observer in the PES. The Prime Minister responded to the dissatisfaction of his party colleagues on social media: The agreement with Italy is neither left nor right, it is simply “right,” he emphasized.

The Democratic Party is positioning itself as one of the main players in this context. “We are asking for parliamentary approval because in this country international agreements have to be approved by parliament, but we have not seen anything. Maybe because they know it violates international law and also constitutional law. The Constitution provides for the possibility of applying for asylum on the territory of the republic. Who will examine asylum applications in a third country? “Are you thinking about moving parts of the court there?” commented the Democratic Party secretary
Elly Schlein.

Foti (Fdi): Scholz confirms Meloni’s foresight “Chancellor Scholz is relaunching the agreement signed between Meloni and Rama, recalling the similar agreement with Turkey and hoping that its content can be further expanded to other non-European countries. A confirmation, should we ever need it, of the foresight and concreteness of the measures taken by the Meloni government to combat illegal immigration. The secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, never does anything right.” This was stated by the FDI group leader in the chamber
Thomas Fotiquestioned by Ansa about Chancellor Scholz’s statements.

Iezzi: “Another small own goal, good starting position for Scholz” “It’s another own goal from Elly Schlein. This is nothing new for us in Italy, but now we are also hearing it in Europe, in this case from Scholz.” As
Igor Iezzi, deputy vice-president of the League in the plenary hall, interviewed by Ansa, on the statements of the German Chancellor and representative of the Social Democratic Party. “This is what we are saying, a sign that there is not just an ideological left, but one that tries to face the problems and look for a solution. And therefore being able to say, as I think Scholz did: Let’s watch and see if this agreement is reached. It can be positive. Above all, we note that Provenzano’s proposal to oust the Albanian Prime Minister from the PSE has not found consensus either in the Democratic Party or among allies in Europe.”

Malan: “Scholz shows that flow management affects everyone” “Scholz’s reaction is the reaction of those who view the migration issue objectively and non-ideologically. So if a solution is reasonable, there is no reason to say it is wrong, even if it belongs to a different political faction. Especially the German one.” The Chancellor shows that dealing with migrants affects all European countries and therefore a possible solution must also be addressed.” The group leader of the Brothers of Italy in the Senate said this – in an interview with Ansa –
Lucio Malan, in which he commented on the Chancellor’s statements on the agreement between Italy and Albania. And he concluded: “I believe that Germany will be encouraged to go in this direction.”
