Migrants staying at the 500 a night Times Square hotel on NYC

Migrants staying at the $500-a-night Times Square hotel on NYC taxpayers’ dime are “garbage rooms.”

A luxury hotel in the heart of New York City is being “vandalized” by migrants – who have been accused of drinking all day, smoking marijuana, having sex in stairwells and causing fights, an employee claims.

The migrants — many of whom were brought to the Big Apple from border states — will be temporarily housed at this 1,300-room Manhattan luxury hotel — The Row NYC, a $500-a-night hotel in tourist hotspot Times Square.

Hotel worker Filipe Rodriguez has called the situation a “shame” and shared videos and photos of the chaos, including “good food” rotting in garbage bags because “the migrants don’t want to eat it”.

“The chaos we see at Row today is [caused] by migrants who are drunk, drink all day, smoke marijuana [and] Doing drugs,” Rodriguez told The Ingraham Angle on Fox News this week.

Some of the images shared included “good food” rotting in garbage bags because “the migrants don’t want to eat it.” “The chaos we see at Row today is [caused] by migrants who are drunk, drink all day, smoke marijuana [and] Using drugs,” Rodriguez said.

Alcohol is banned in all migrant shelters, ABC7 reported, but staff say they often find empty beer and liquor bottles in rooms and hallways, as seen in photos shared by Rodriguez.

“The form in which they keep their rooms is appalling. They don’t clean it, they don’t fold their clothes. They hoard clothes, they hoard anything they can hoard,” he said.

“There were a lot of things I had to be responsible for. Luckily for the migrants, they got the United States government to give them carte blanche to do pretty much whatever they want. You go in and out of the hotel as you please,’ he said.

Rodriguez added that thousands of dollars’ worth of taxpayer-funded groceries are wasted because migrants throw them away because they insist on cooking on hotplates in their rooms, which also poses a danger to themselves and other hotel guests.

“They said they don’t like it,” he said of the migrants and the hotel food. “It’s all food that goes to waste. That’s crazy.’

Rodriguez also pointed out that there have also been several incidents of “domestic violence” among migrants, with one even fighting a security guard at the hotel. In addition, some young people have had “sex on the stairs”.

Located on 8th Avenue between 44th and 45th Streets, the four-star Row is in the heart of Manhattan’s Broadway Theater District and offers classic NYC views, a fully equipped gym, a communal workspace that’s compatible with Apple’s iMac desktops in the $2,000 value, and a lounge where you can relax -stretched pizzas are $20.

The bar menu features cocktails that cost up to $19 each. A glass of champagne costs $22. Room rates vary by size — but the Executive Suite is $719 per night.

New York City uses the hotel solely to house migrants, some of whom are seeking asylum.

The city uses The Row’s hotel staff to work there, but the city has yet to disclose how much taxpayer money is being used to house migrants.

According to Rodriguez, more than 36,400 migrants have poured into New York City in recent months and have been accommodated in just 14 hotels.

Most migrants arrived on buses from border states, including Texas, as a result of President Joe Biden’s border crisis. The influx has become so problematic that Mayor Eric Adams has also asked Colorado Gov. Jared Polis to stop sending more into the city.

In November, Adams said it would cost the city up to $600 million a year to provide thousands of migrants with shelter, education, health care and legal aid — and he has asked Biden to step in with federal aid.

Biden did not discuss the southern border when he met Mexican President Andres Manuel López Obrador during their summit in Mexico this week, claiming there was “no time” to discuss the historic crisis.

The southern border issue was removed from the agenda at the Three Amigos Summit Monday and Tuesday in Mexico City, Mexico, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.

It appears that because a private conversation between Biden and López Obrador dragged on, the group’s subsequent official meeting left less time than expected to discuss the US-Mexico border issue.

The conversation before the meeting apparently touched on migration and the border, but it’s not clear how detailed they went on the subject.

The official meeting seemed to focus mainly on drug smuggling and supply chain issues.

Meanwhile, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has repeatedly criticized Republicans for deepening the southern border crisis.

Biden is “trying to fix the border crisis,” she said when asked about his solutions following his trip to the border on Sunday and subsequent meetings with Canadian and Mexican leaders.

“Migration, irregular migration, that was of course a central topic of discussion,” emphasized Jean-Pierre in her press conference on Wednesday. “President Biden discussed ways our countries can continue to work together and tackle irregular migration. So this conversation certainly happened extensively.
