New York Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad is in legal trouble in his home country of Sweden.
According to court documents, the 30-year-old hockey player put his house up as collateral for a business loan taken out by the president of a fast-food chain in which he had invested. This loan was not repaid and the creditor filed a lawsuit.

Four people are affected, including Zibanejad and his brother. The amount claimed is $410,000. Currently, the player has not commented publicly on the matter.
According to the platform CapFriendly, Zibanejad has earned $42.4 million since playing in the National League. In 2023-2024, he will complete the second season of an eight-year contract that will allow him to earn $8.5 million annually.
