Titans coach Mike Vrabel has not yet decided who his starting quarterback will be for next Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.
Will Levis has started the last two games while Ryan Tannehill has been dealing with an ankle injury, but when asked if he was ready to name a No. 1 quarterback for next week, Vrabel said he wasn’t be.
“No, I’m not ready for that yet,” Vrabel said, via SI.com. “I think we’ll have a depth chart conversation over the weekend and we’ll have the depth chart or something similar on hand when we talk to you on Tuesday to be able to go over the moving parts and not just Ryan’s health, but whatever.” always going on on the offensive line, that comes from this game.”
Vrabel said he would not answer whether Tannehill would get the starting job back as long as it was a hypothetical and Tannehill had not been cleared to return.
“If Ryan is healthy, I will make a decision for you,” Vrabel said.
Tannehill had struggled this season before the injury and the Titans were just 2-4 this season. Levis appeared to excel in leading the Titans to a win over the Falcons in his first start, but struggled in Thursday night’s loss to the Steelers.
The 3-5 Titans need consistent quarterback play if they want to make the playoffs in the second half of the season, but Vrabel doesn’t yet know who that quarterback play will come from.
