Last November, Lucic pleaded not guilty to one count of assaulting his wife. A few days earlier he had been handcuffed in his home.

According to the Boston Police Department report released at the time, Brittany Lucic claimed her partner tried to strangle her and pulled her hair. When police arrived, the man appeared to be drunk.

In addition to being released on bail, he is prohibited from “abusing the potential victim and consuming alcohol.”

Lucic has been out since October 21st with an ankle injury. After his arrest, it was announced that he would be withdrawing from the team's environment for an indefinite period of time.

The veteran returned to Boston this summer after signing a one-year deal worth $1 million. Lucic began his career with the Bruins (from 2007 to 2015) before wearing the colors of the Los Angeles Kings (from 2015 to 2016), Edmonton Oilers (from 2016 to 2019) and Calgary Flames (from 2019 to 2023).
