According to the former beauty queen, the amount spent is $100 million.
According to Mayorga, part of this amount was used to renovate the Adolfo Pineda National High School, headquarters of the competition, and to improve several public spaces.
“We are talking about the fact that Miss Universe itself is a 100 million project. They (the Miss Universe Organization) also invest so much money in production, in everything that has to do with the artists that come, with the presenters, with the logistics of bringing the whole stage…”commented the ambassador in the interview that took place in the hotel where the participants are concentrated. “In addition, as part of El Salvador’s investments, we have renewed the infrastructure. The National Gymnasium has already been converted into a gymnasium for shows of the caliber of “Miss Universe” because it hosted the Central American and Caribbean Games, and now the seating is luxurious. They have already conditioned this gym very well so it is super nice. There are also various public places”he added.

Mayorga emphasized the importance of investing in these types of projects in the interview, which was also repeated by other social media accounts. In their opinion, this leads to greater private investment.
“When you invest in the public, private investment comes. They say that for every dollar of public investment, there are four dollars of private investment. “That brings a lot to the economy.”commented Miss El Salvador 1996 and Miss Universe semi-finalist that year.
