Jennifer Lawrence was forced to address affair rumors with Liam Hemsworth this week after fans theorized that Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers’ music video had a hidden meaning.
The song made headlines for its references to Miley’s ex-husband Liam, 33, including lyrics about the Miami wildfire that destroyed their home.
In the music video, fans noticed that the gold 1991 Saint Laurent dress that 30-year-old Miley wore to her Hollywood appearances bore a striking resemblance to the dress that 32-year-old Jennifer wore years earlier walked the red carpet.
Observant viewers noticed that her dress resembled the gold Prabal Gurung gown Jennifer wore when she and Liam attended the Los Angeles premiere of The Hunger Games on March 12, 2012.
The resemblance between the two outfits went viral in a TikTok titled, “Tell Us Miley!” Queen of Shade, which featured side-by-side shots of Miley in the Flowers video and Jennifer on the red carpet.

While Miley has never publicly slammed Jennifer, some fans believed she was “eclipsing” the “American Hustle” star because there were rumors she and Liam had an affair on the set of The Hunger Games.
Jennifer and Liam directed the four-part sci-fi franchise between 2012 and 2015, and played on-screen lovers Katniss Everdeen and Gale Hawthorne.
The pair were the subject of persistent romance rumors during filming, and in 2015 Jennifer finally admitted to kissing Liam off-camera.
The actress finally had to deal with the rumors after fan speculation mounted following Miley’s cryptic video.
Andy asked her about it during a game of “Plead The Fifth” because he said when Miley’s song “Flowers” came out there was a lot of talk about the music video referring to a secret affair she had with Liam while he was dating Miley was together.
“That’s not true,” Jennifer said. “Total rumour. “We all know we only kissed once and that was years after we broke up, so I just assumed it was a coincidence.”
“Liam and I grew up together. Liam is really hot. “What would you have done?” Jennifer said, laughing.
Jennifer admitted that when she sees rumors about her online she’s tempted to tweet, but doesn’t maintain her own Twitter or Instagram.

“When five people at a party think you slept with someone’s boyfriend, it’s really annoying,” Jennifer said. “And then multiply it by, I’m not good at math, eight billion.”
The Flowers video sparked a number of theories.
The dress was part of the Saint Laurent collection in 1991, the year between Miley and Liam’s births: she was born in November 1992 and he in January 1990.
Shortly after wearing the Saint Laurent dress, Miley slipped into a black blazer from the same designer’s 2022 collection.
Some believe this symbolizes how Miley has left behind the relationship she started as a teenager and is ready for a new era.
During their time together, the pair often wore Saint Laurent, including to the Vanity Fair Oscar party in February 2019, when Liam scolded Miley as she began twerking on the red carpet.
Elsewhere in the video, Miley sings that they “built a house and watched it burn,” likely referring to her and Liam’s $2.5 million home that was destroyed in the California fires burned down in 2018.
She also alludes to the Australian actor’s sudden divorce filing in 2019 by singing, “I didn’t mean to leave you / I didn’t mean to lie / Started crying.”
It was believed at the time that Miley wanted to work on their ebb and flow of 10-year relationship and were shocked that Liam wanted to end things legally.
