The Wrecking Ball singer was born in 1992, the year her father released the hit Achy Breaky Heart. In a new TikTok series inspired by her latest track, Used To Be Young, Miley Cyrus opens up about her relationship with her dad.
“I have many great memories of singing, learning and recording music with my dad and I can see my memories flash when I hear his voice and the way he uses the instrument,” she said. while scrolling through a list of The 100 Greatest Country Songs of 1992 in a video released Saturday (26Aug23). “I have to say that I don’t think my dad was appreciated vocally.”
The artist also analyzed the different approach she and her father take to success. She sees this as the lack of support her father experienced as a child as she was encouraged to pursue her musical career and follow in her father’s footsteps.
