Millions of people in the US threatened by severe storms

According to CNN, the system that brought snowstorm warnings to Southern California on Friday and Saturday will create a significant destructive wind event in central that nation.

Cities at risk due to weather conditions include Oklahoma, Tulsa, Lawton, Enid, Kansas City, Fort Worth and St. Louis.

There are currently wind warnings for more than 65 million people from the states of Arizona to Ohio, the television added.

Last week’s winter storm caused road closures, canceled flights and blacked out homes and businesses, along with flood warnings.

The blackouts meant thousands of residents had to cope with freezing temperatures without access to heat, according to a report by The Hill newspaper.

Local media reported that a Michigan state firefighter died Wednesday after coming into contact with a downed power line.
