Mino Raiola, one of the most famous sports agents in the world, has died at the age of 54 surrounded by his family announced Saturday.

Raiola was hospitalized in Italy and was “fighting for his life,” doctors said recently. Raiola issued a tweet earlier this week responding to reports that he had passed away, saying: “Current health status for those wondering: second time in four months pissed off they kill me. Also seem to be able to revive.”
But his family said on Saturday that Raiola had indeed died.

“Mino fought to the end with the same strength he mustered at the negotiating tables to defend our players,” said the family. “As always, Mino made us proud without realizing it. Mino touched so many lives through his work and wrote a new chapter in the history of modern football. His presence will be missed forever.”
