Miranda Lambert has caused controversy in her fanbase after abandoning her concert to punish two fans for taking a selfie during her live performance.

In a viral TikTok video posted Sunday (July 16), the country singer is seen on stage at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino at her Las Vegas home, where she prepares to singing her 2016 song “Tin Man”.

But just as she’s finished singing the first verse, 39-year-old Lambert abruptly announces, “I’m going to stop here for a second.”

After apologizing to her pianist, she points to the front of the audience and says, “These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song, it’s getting on my nerves a bit.”

“Sorry, I don’t like it at all. We’re here tonight to hear some country music. I sing fucking country music,” she adds. “Shall we start over?”

As Lambert restarts the song to cheers from the audience, the footage shows a woman leaving her seat and saying, “Come on, let’s go. You don’t do that to the fans.”

Several other fans commented on the video in solidarity with the early exit of the concert visitor.

“Yes, I would have gone, fuck it. You paid to be there. If you don’t want pictures, don’t allow phones. That’s ridiculous!” one replied.

“I love Miranda but what?!” A second wrote, while a third agreed: “I love her but this really pissed me off.”

“Will she take people to task for going to the bathroom too? That was so inappropriate…if I pay…I’ll take as many pics as I want,” added another.

Others, however, praised Lambert, writing, “I wish someone would listen to me sing when I’m doing my best.”

“Good for Miranda. “This song is so special and beautiful,” said another.

The Independent has reached out to Lambert’s rep for comment.

The “I’ll Be Lovin’ You” singer’s outburst comes amid a spate of incidents involving live artists and concert-goers.

In June, Bebe Rhexa was performing in New York when a phone from the crowd went flying through the air, hitting her in the face.

She was then taken to the hospital where she had stitches over her left eye. She later shared a selfie on Instagram with a black eye and medical tape over her left eyebrow.

Just a week later, “Sweet But Psycho” singer Max was attacked by a stage intruder during a concert in Los Angeles and punched her in the face.

In London, Pink was left speechless when a fan threw a plastic bag onto the stage containing her mother’s ashes. She also received a large wheel of French Brie from another fan.

Country-pop singer Kelsea Ballerini was also struck in the eye by a bracelet during a concert in Idaho.
