Miriam Margoles repeats claims Arnold Schwarzenegger is inappropriate

Miriam Margolyes has accused Arnold Schwarzenegger of inappropriate behavior on the set of her 1999 film End of Days.

The 81-year-old Harry Potter star previously made the same allegations to The Guardian in 2016 and repeated them during a radio interview on Tuesday.

She is the only person from the cast to have made these claims publicly, and they have not been corroborated by anyone else on set.

Schwarzenegger, 74, didn’t specifically address Margolyes’ claims but previously dismissed allegations of inappropriate behavior as “not true” after six women spoke to the Los Angeles Times in 2003 about their experiences working with him.

At the time of these allegations, the former champion bodybuilder-turned-actor was the front runner in California’s gubernatorial election.

Margolyes was asked about her experience with Schwarzenegger on The Kyle and Jackie O Show after she recently claimed he “farted in her face” on set.

She said she hated filming with Schwarzenegger, saying, “No, I didn’t enjoy it at all. I thought he was full of himself and [inappropriate].’

‘Not [with] Lucky for me, but he thought everyone else who was young and pretty was fair game. That’s how it was then,” she added.

It wasn’t the first time that Margolyes accused Schwarzenegger of inappropriate behavior on the set of End of Days.

In 2016, she called the former California governor “a bastard of a man” and told The Guardian: “Even though he was fairly professional with me – because he didn’t like me – he was terrible [inappropriate] with women who interested him.’

“He thought highly of himself, but I wasn’t surprised: he was a bodybuilder from Austria who later became a world star,” she continued.

Schwarzenegger has not responded to Margolyes’ 2016 allegations, nor has anyone from the 1999 film corroborated her claims.

Schwarzenegger once admitted that he “sometimes misbehaved” while working as an actor, but insisted that “many” of the claims made against him were untrue.

In 2003, the Los Angeles Times published an interview with six women who claimed Schwarzenegger inappropriately touched them without their consent.

The women claimed that one incident occurred in the 1970s, two in the 1980s, two in the 1990s and one in 2000.

After the story was published, Schwarzenegger, then running for governor of California, admitted that he sometimes “misbehaved” on set.

“It’s true that I was on rowdy movie sets and doing things that weren’t right, which I thought was playful at the time,” he said at a campaign event.

“But now I realize I’ve offended people. To those people whom I have offended, I want to tell them that I am deeply sorry and I apologize because I am not trying.

Schwarzenegger insisted that “a lot of stuff in the [LA Times] story isn’t true’.

He later said in 2018 that he “crossed the line a number of times” with women during his film career and “felt bad about it.”

“Looking back, I’ve stepped over the line a number of times and I was the first to apologize. I feel bad about it and I apologize for it,” he told Men’s Health.

“When I became governor, I wanted to make sure nobody, including myself, ever makes that mistake.

“That’s why we took courses on sexual harassment to have a clear understanding of what is acceptable and what is not from a legal point of view and also from a regular behavior point of view.”

Chron Australia has reached out to Schwarzenegger’s representatives for comment.

“Schwarzenegger didn’t bother with him. He’s a little too cocky,” Miriam said on the I’ve Got News For You podcast.

“He was actually pretty rude. He farted in my face. Well, I fart, of course I do, but I don’t fart in people’s faces. He did it on purpose, right in my face,” he said.

Margolyes said the incident happened while the couple were filming End of Days in Los Angeles.

“I played Satan’s sister and [his character] killed me so he put me in a position I couldn’t escape from, lying on the floor. And he just farted,’ she said.

“It wasn’t in the film, it was in one of the breaks, but I didn’t forgive him for that.”

Margolyes previously spoke about the farting incident in an interview with Readers Digest.

“I ended up having my throat cut with a glass table [of the film], and I remember Schwarzenegger farting right in my face as I was on the floor trying not to move,” she told the publication, adding, “I yelled, ‘F**k you, Arnie !’ I was very angry.’
