Miss Colombia 2022: Atlántico won the National Beauty Pageant Entertainment Culture

Sofia Osío Luna, Miss AtlanticShe was named the new Miss Colombia. She was born in Barranquilla on May 27th, 2000, is 22 years old and is an expert in fashion marketing and communication from the European Institute of Design in Barcelona.

From the start, the Queen of the Atlantic was one of the big favorites to be chosen as the new Miss Colombia. Osío takes the 12th title for her department and will go to Miss Miss Supranational in Poland.

Miss Antioquia, Valentina María Mora Trujillo, was elected Viceroy. She was born on November 26, 1997 in Medellin. She is 24 years old and is a social communicator at EAFIT University. She will represent Colombia at Miss International, a competition in Japan.

The first princess was Miss Norte de Santander, Andrea Yáñez García; the second princess was Valle, Juanita Urrea, and the third princess, Tolima, Laura León.

Before the election, the finalists were asked questions on environmental and women’s issues.

The Queen of the Atlantic, Sofía Osío Luna, was asked how to thrive in a society plagued by anxiety and depression. “We have to trust ourselves because we are capable of achieving what we set out to do, we have to look in the mirror and tell ourselves we are enough.”.

For her part, Ms Antioquia, Valentina Mora Trujillo, responded to the question of how the public and private sectors should help women entrepreneurs: “I am very proud of the role of women running small and medium-sized businesses, showing that we are creative, successful and durable”.

Juanita Urrea, del Valle, was asked if oil should continue to be an export product amid the climate crisis. “We are aware of the crisis that threatens our future and I believe that there must be a transformation in economies and have a circular economy that looks for new energy alternatives without it affecting the economies of the countries.”he answered.

Laura León, from Tolima, called for alternatives so that climate change is not so badly affected. “As a psychologist, I would do activities that encourage people to take better care of the environment and thus achieve a friendly and beautiful ecosystem,” she said.

Norte de Santander candidate Andrea Yáñez García defined success as “the path to fulfilling a dream. If you’re a family member, having a family is valid, but you must also strive to be a recognized professional,” she said.

The evening began with the parade of 29 applicants in gala dresswhere the previously little-noticed candidate from Chocó particularly stood out was the farewell to Valentina Espinosa, Miss Colombia 2021, who summed up her year of government and thanked her for having carried the scepter and crown National Beauty Pageant.

In addition, there were several musical performances, notable among which was the tribute to Nene del Real, who died last year, by his son Cristian del Real and his group, a heartfelt tribute to his career. There was also a musical tribute to Cartagena as a symbol of the competition.

The moderators Catalina Robayo and Gato Rodríguez read out the list of the 10 semi-finalists: Valle, Cartagena, Chocó, Atlántico, Antioquia, Cesar, Caribbean Region, Risaralda, Tolima and Norte de Santander.
