On Saturday (8) Sasha Bauer, Miss Santa Catarina, presented a typical costume of a “peasant from Santa Catarina” in the national pageant. Her Miss Brazil election was inspired by Vera Fisher, who won the title in 1969 wearing a similar outfit and represented the country in the United States. With information from the NPC.

According to the model, the costume is a tribute to the actress for taking the name Blumenau and the state outside of Brazil.

“The Peasant of Santa Catarina is a reinterpretation of the costume worn by Vera Fisher in 1969 when Santa Catarina won her first national crown. In addition to preserving the traditions of German farmers on festival days, the costume also celebrates the culture that strengthens tourism in the country,” the moderators explained.

Sasha Bauer, who holds the most enduring title of Queen of the Oktoberfest in Blumenau, was in the top 16 of the Miss Brasil 2023 competition. In the second phase of the competition, which saw six candidates selected, the Santa Catarina native walked off the stage.
