The most famous beauty pageant in the world took place in New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturday January 14th, attended by 84 women from as many countries. During the competition, the American competitor spoke of the age taboo for women: Gabriel entered the competition at 28, the maximum age for participation. “I would like to see an increase in the competitive age because I am 28 years old, the oldest age to compete. And I think that’s a beautiful thing. As a woman, I think age doesn’t define us. It’s not tomorrow, it’s not yesterday, it’s now. The time is now.”
