65 machines will now undergo thorough maintenance and safety checks.

After a window was ripped out during a flight, the North American company Alaska Airlines is grounding all of its Boeing 737-9 Max aircraft for the time being. As a precautionary measure, it was decided to subject the 65 machines to thorough maintenance and safety checks, announced the company on Friday evening (local time). Each machine will only return to service after an inspection has been completed.

The incident occurred on the way from Portland, Oregon, to Ontario Airport, which is east of Los Angeles. Shortly after takeoff, the plane returned to the airport with 171 passengers on board and landed there safely, company chief Ben Minicucci said in a statement.

big Bang

According to media reports, a part of the window suddenly came loose and flew out. There was a loud bang and then air rushed through the hole, passengers told The Oregonian. The next seat was unoccupied, but a teenager in the middle seat suffered injuries due to the sudden drop in pressure. Therefore, there were no reports of serious injuries. (APA/Portal)
