A Guatemalan rapper who was missing for three days was found dead in a barrel hidden in the trunk of an abandoned car.
The National Civil Police recovered the remains of Nesly Consuegra, 27, early Monday morning in Guatemala City. The body showed signs of extreme violence.
Consuegra, known as “Neshie” in the Guatemalan hip-hop scene, was last seen alive leaving an office she owned last Friday.
Residents on a block between 29th Street and 3rd Avenue alerted police that an unlicensed gray Mazda 3 was left near the entrance of an auto repair shop by a group of people around 10 p.m. Sunday.

Police officers at the scene searched the vehicle before discovering the barrel in the trunk that contained Neshie’s body, which was tied with ropes.
The National Institute of Forensic Sciences said Consuegra died from a blow to the head.
No arrests had been reported as of Thursday afternoon.
Friends and fellow rappers got together Wednesday night and marched in Guatemala City to urge authorities to hunt down those responsible for Neshie’s murder.
According to local Facebook group Colectiva Urbana Oficial, Neshie started rapping in 2013.

She founded a women’s freestyle movement called “Women Free” that aimed to help and empower women who wanted to be rappers and recorded her first album “Estados Mentales” in 2016.
Neshie released a dozen more songs after her album.
“She played soccer, was an animal rights advocate and dedicated her time to caring for puppies at vets where she worked for a number of years,” Colectiva Urbana Oficial wrote in a Facebook post.
“She also started a company. Our sister and colleague was a loving, caring being, someone who had time to listen, an engaged and passionate person. We remember them with love and demand justice.”
When she wasn’t rapping, Consuegra devoted her free time to helping sick animals in Guatemala City
