Tom Cruise is back in theaters with the latest installment of Mission: Impossible, and the first reactions to the film following its world premiere in Rome are in.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One was directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who also co-wrote the film alongside Erik Jendresen. The film also stars Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby and Henry Czerny.

Journalists who attended the Italian premiere took to social media to comment on the action film, with Collider’s Perri Nemiroff calling it “another winner for the franchise.”

“Once again, the production value is overwhelming as some of the clearest and most exciting set pieces were photographed in a way that really makes you feel like you’re right in the middle of the action. “The emphasis on getting things on camera makes a HUGE difference and you can feel it,” says Nemiroff tweeted.

Nemiroff also praised Atwell, who to her was “the BIG standout at the end.” add to“She can do anything.” Action, comedy, in many ways an able heroine while in others she’s trying to get her sea legs. One of the most compelling performances/arcs and just plain fun character to watch.”

Uproxx author Mike Ryan tweeted He commented on the latest installment of Mission: Impossible, saying, “It works like Christopher McQuarrie’s ambitious inquiry/meditation on AI and the dangerous path we may be on.” (He doesn’t like it).”

Kate Erbland out said IndieWire The movie “does the best job yet of the last part 1 of 2!!” excels at feeling like a movie in its own right as you prepare for the next half.”

Fandango’s Erik Davis called They had “absolutely the best time watching” Mission: Impossible, calling it “an immaculately crafted action movie that never fails to entertain.” Each action sequence is long, crazy, and intense. The story is big and sprawling, but I like how it felt complete and longingly prepared you for what’s next.”

Gizmodo’s Germain Lussier called “Dead Reckoning Part One” “amazing” and said the story was “dynamite” and “timely”. “Excellent new characters. Huge variety of action and one final set piece that ranks 2-3rd all-time for the franchise,” said Lussier added. “Sometimes it gets a little dense, but his pace and intensity more than cover that.”

Joseph Deckelmeier from Screenrant as well praised Atwell says she “steals every scene she’s in,” adding, “The action got my heart pumping.”
