At least six people were reportedly killed in shootings in various areas of Tate County, Mississippi, on Friday, February 17.
Local television station NB5C reported that the shootings all took place in the rural township of Arkabutla, an unmunicipal area of Tate County about 40 miles from the city of Memphis, Tennessee.
It all started in a store where first a man and then a woman were shot and killed, Sheriff Brad Lance reports on WMC TV. Police then found four other people dead: two in a house and two on the street.
A man discovered in a vehicle nearby has been taken into county police custody as a suspect in the killings. The FBI is also working on the case.
