MLB star Trevor Bauer is suing ex-lover for falsely accusing him of rape

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer, 31, has sued a woman who accused him of sexual assault after he insisted it was consensual rough sex.

Bauer’s legal team filed a lawsuit against accuser Lindsey Hill and her attorney Fred Thiagarajah in Los Angeles on April 25, TMZ reported.

No one has commented on the allegations they are now facing.

The lawsuit was filed two months after Los Angeles prosecutors said they would not be charging the athlete, though he remains suspended from his team while an internal Major League Baseball investigation continues.

Bauer and his attorneys have not specified the amount of damages they are seeking, with a price likely to be decided in court if they win.

The one-time Cy Young Awards winner has long denied any wrongdoing in his sexual encounters with Bauer, which took place in April and May 2021 at his home in Pasadena.

Texts obtained exclusively by show Hill texted him after they first met, urging Bauer to “choke me” and “give all the pain”.

At the time of the sexual encounters, Lindsey Hill was 27 years old.

Bauer has been suspended from playing in MLB since July 2, 2021.

The last suspension expires on April 29. At the time of writing, MLB is still investigating the allegations against Bauer.

In his lawsuit, Bauer admits to the sexual encounters with Hill, but says she consented to him analizing, choking and hitting her.

Bauer’s lawsuit accuses Hill of stalking him after their first sexual encounter in order to engage him in a “rougher sexual experience.”

He claims she did it “so she could later claim that this sexual experience wasn’t what she asked for, thereby laying the groundwork for a financial settlement.”

The lawsuit states that Bauer genuinely believed Hill was only expressing sexual preferences while pursuing him.

Due to Hill’s allegations, Bauer said his relationship with the LA Dodgers was damaged, which cost him millions of dollars.

Bauer was disqualified from the game shortly after his transfer to the Dodgers from the Cincinnati Reds.

According to her connections, Bauer alleges that Hill concocted a sexual assault storyline for police to gain financial gain. The lawsuit states that Hill “created a media blitz based on her lies,” reports ESPN.

Her attorney, Thiagarajah, is accused in the lawsuit of helping Hill create her story.

Bauer goes on to say that the graphic images of Hill’s face, which appeared to be battered and bruised, were edited to look worse, he says that during the investigation, Hill deleted phone records and also gave conflicting statements.

Hill initially claimed that after her second relationship with Bauer, she woke up with an injured vagina and buttocks, black eyes, swollen and cut lips, scratches and bruised gums.

Hill said that after her second encounter with Bauer, she went to a hospital where she was diagnosed with an acute head injury, while saying she left with a slightly swollen lip

In the latest lawsuit, Bauer says Hill only had a slightly swollen lip when she left his home in May 2021. Hill claims she went to a hospital where she was diagnosed with a head injury.

A section of the suit read: “During both sexual encounters, Mr. Bauer respected the established and agreed boundaries at all times [the woman].’

The lawsuit cites alleged text messages Hill sent her friends about a possible financial windfall arising from her relationship with Bauer.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney announced in February 2022 that sexual assault charges would not be filed against Bauer.

At the time, Thiagarajah told the Washington Post that it would be “disheartening” for prosecutors to press charges against Bauer.

He said the decision not to press charges was “not a declaration of innocence; it’s a statement of ‘I don’t have enough evidence to prove this beyond a reasonable doubt.’ And there’s no doubt that Mr. Bauer has just been brutalized [the woman].’

The new lawsuit states, “At the time Mr. Thiagarajah made these statements, he knew that his client had filed a “materially misleading” petition with the California Supreme Court seeking an injunction,” reports USA Today.

Earlier, in August 2021, the restraining order Hill had imposed on Bauer was lifted after a judge ruled he posed no threat to the alleged victim. The same judge ruled against Bauer’s legal team’s request for access to Hill’s phone records in April 2022.

This lawsuit is the latest legal action Bauer has taken in relation to the allegations.

In March 2022, Bauer filed suit against online publishers Deadspin and The Athletic, and their former reporter Molly Knight, for articles written about the original allegations.
