Minnesota United clinched a 2-1 win over Nashville SC at GEODIS Park on Sunday, adding three important points to the table en route to the playoffs.

This overseas win allows the Minnesota club to consolidate their fourth place in Major League Soccer’s Western Conference. The third division FC Dallas has only one priority point and played one game more.
It’s a different story for Nashville SC, which is kind of clinging to the last spot that gives access to the playoffs in the West. The Tennessee club haven’t lost a win in a month, their most recent triumph coming on July 13 against the Seattle Sounders.
Fresh off the bench, Joseph Rosales made himself felt in the duel of the day in the 75th minute. With a precise flat cross, he spotted Paraguayan international Alan Benitez at the far post, who scored the winning goal.
Early in the game, Franco Fragapane opened the scoring for Minnesota United after being completely forgotten on the right flank of opposing defense.
However, the hosts leveled the game thanks to their star player Hany Mukhtar, who scored the goal from a corner kick in a moment of the visitors’ confusion.
It was a frustrating defeat for Nashville SC, who overtook their rivals in possession (62.9%) and shots on goal (8-4).
