Doody even began his college career as a forward. He started 18 of the Bruins' 20 games last year.
In the second round, Montreal targeted Canadian defenseman Malik Henry in the 39th round. The 21-year-old Ontario native played for the University of Akron in Ohio. He was sometimes deployed as a defensive midfielder and was named to the 2022 NCAA Mid-American Team of the Season.
In the third round, the Bleu-Blanc-Noir first turned to University of Connecticut Huskies striker Eli Conway (68th). The American has scored three goals and as many assists in 18 games this year. Then he added midfielder Carson Hodgson (86th) from Western Michigan University.
