“For the first month and a half after I lost, I thought about killing myself.” This the shock sentence with which Chris Daukaus alarmed his fans and MMA enthusiasts. The 33-year-old American, heavyweight and No. 11 in the UFC rankings has been going through a moment deep crisis after the last two defeats by KO conceded by Derrick Lewis (last year) and Curtis Blaydes (March).

A past as a police officer
However, with an eye to the future, Daukaus is now looking to the future next meeting with Jairzinho Rozenstruik which will take place on Saturday, December 10th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas: “You just have to get over it. I mean it sucks but you have to get over it and I’ve been working on it since my last knockout and I’m here to change that.” However, the two defeats fixed have not made him change his mind about his decision, who he met when he did it quit his job as a police officer in his hometown of Philadelphia devoting himself exclusively to mixed martial arts: “I don’t love the police, bureaucracy and everything else, but I love the people I’ve worked with. But this is much better: I can spend time with my family and my children. I get paid to fight, it’s a dream to live like this and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
