Model Sophie Anderton reveals the secret behind pal Kate Moss' longevity as the supermodel prepares for her 50th birthday

English supermodel Kate Moss turns 50 next week and as that celebratory milestone approaches, Sophie Anderton has revealed the secret behind her longevity.

The English model's colleague Sophie, 46, revealed why she believes the down-to-earth girl from Croydon has remained loved and relevant for so long in an ever-evolving industry.

In an article for The Sun, Sophie revealed that she first met Kate in 1995 when she was 18 and that she was in complete awe of the model.

She explained that the star has always had a captivating quality: “Even though she turns 50 next week, it's still that natural poise and coolness that continues to attract everyone's attention.”

She added: “I think one of the secrets behind Kate's incredible longevity in the business is that people have always been fascinated by her.”

Kate has been in the public eye since she was 14, but despite a career spanning nearly 40 years, the public rarely hears the star speak.

Sophie and Kate previously worked with Jodie Kidd at the Earls Court Motor Show in 1999.

Recalling her experience with the model, Sophie described Kate as reserved and cautious, choosing not to use her voice as she knew it wasn't her job.

Equipped with beauty, height and a strong work ethic, Sophie explained: “She always had the total package and that's why clients and photographers all fell head over heels in love with her.”

Kate became famous in the 1990s, before the age of influencers and social media models that are constantly on the rise today.

Sophie was already successful before this era and revealed that while Kate didn't flaunt her personality to the public, she still had plenty of it.

Instead of following trends and fads, Kate has adapted them from her lemon yellow Topshop dress to her 2001 pixie haircut.

Sophie noted that Kate has always remained true to who she is and now, as she approaches 50, embodies a mature confidence.

Kate finally leaves the loud north London scene of her 20s and 30s behind and settles in a honey-colored, Grade II-listed mansion in the Cotswolds. She seems to be leaving the party world behind.

In November last year, the star was criticized for not turning up to her own launch party to celebrate the launch of the new ANINE BING Kate Tote in London.

The supermodel was surprisingly absent from designer Annie Bing's cocktail party, which featured celebrity guests including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Cat Deeley.

Kate should have been the star of the party as she celebrated her partnership with the American designer, who traveled from Los Angeles for the event.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Annie and her team had pulled out all the stops to throw a mega party to celebrate their partnership.”

“But shortly after the party started they were told that Kate couldn’t attend because she wasn’t feeling well.

“A lot of people joked about her being sick, but it wasn't amusing to all the people who had put in so much effort.”
