“A scary Halloween costume”, “disgusting”, “kissing”, “narcissistic”, “massive junk”: British TV presenter Piers Morgan doesn’t mince words when he describes Madonna.

“She wants to play the hot 25-year-old but she’s 64. You can’t play the victim when you’re provocative and everything you do to get attention is so wrong,” protests the 57-year-old presenter in an excerpt from Piers Morgan Uncensored, which can be found on Youtube.

The latter refers to Madonna’s presence at the recent Grammys ceremony. The 64-year-old singer sparked a lot of comments and questions from the media and the public as her face was puffy and almost unrecognizable.

When asked “Is Madonna a victim of age discrimination?” Daily Mirror associate editor Kevin Maguire first asked if the same question would be asked if it were Mick Jagger. He adds, “Madonna is a victim of misogyny, yes, but she’s also always trying to get noticed, and when you do that, it can go either way.”

British comedian and podcaster James Barr sided with Madonna. “Absolutely, she is a victim of ageism and misogyny and the fact that we’re here, three men discussing misogyny, proves it!”

“The truth is that a woman over 45 cannot be considered sexy in people’s eyes,” he protested.

“Now when she comes out and you see her face, I shudder with horror,” Piers Morgan continues. It’s like a Halloween costume. Madonna needs real friends to tell her: What have you done to your face?

TalkTV contributor Esther Krakue believes Madonna is “too rich and too iconic to look like that.” “I don’t think it’s age discrimination to point out when someone’s acting crazy,” she says.

Following comments and newspaper articles about her performance at the Grammys, Madonna wrote on her social media: “Once again I’m caught in the lens of ageism and misogyny.”

“The world is threatened by my strength and endurance,” she added on Twitter. My intelligence and my will to survive. They will never destroy me, this is all just a test.
