Mom of 12 at 34 My parents didnt want me

Mom of 12 at 34: “My parents didn’t want me to date until I was 16, here’s what went wrong”

At 34 she is a mother of 12 children, her first pregnancy was at 15. Something in the life of the young mother with a large family turned out differently than the plans her parents had made for her. Born into a “strict Christian family,” she was forbidden to go out alone—especially with boys—until she was 16. But as fate would have it, she married just a day after her 16th birthday and gave birth to the first of a dozen children shortly thereafter.

Mother of 12 children aged 34

Britni Church, a 34-year-old mom from Arkansas, shared her story in a series of TikTok videos shared on the @ourlargefamilylife account, which drew a lot of interest from users. The woman shared how her life took an unexpected turn starting in 2002, when a then 17-year-old boy first took her hand on the school bus and became first her husband, then father of five of their 12 children, and finally an ex-wife.

The two remained married for six and a half years, which Britni described as marred by drug use and abuse. The young woman initially tried to make the marriage work because she was afraid of what life would be like for her and her children as an 18-year-old single mother of (then) three children. “I wanted the kids to have a normal life,” she explained in a video. Britni only decided to separate from her husband in 2010 after the birth of her fifth child. After her divorce, she unexpectedly became pregnant with her sixth child before meeting her now-husband Chris in 2014.

The couple had six children together, including triplets, and by the age of 32 she was a mother of 12. “We got married and had our first child in the first year after we met,” she recalled in a clip. But she assured her followers that she was “100% sure I’m done with the kids.”

Of course, her 1.8 million followers responded with ecstasy in the comments, wondering why she never took up birth control or if she was forced into marriage at such a young age. Regarding the first question, she explained that her ex-husband would not have approved of hormonal birth control (a fact that other users have also attributed to abusive relationships). But he vows he has no regrets about any of his beloved children — Crizman, Jordan, Caleb, Jace, Cadence, Jesalyn, Silas, Christopher Jr., Oliver, Asher, Abel and Rowyn (born 2021). On TikTok, many followers praised her for sharing her story.
