Monia Chokri, to whom we also have Babysitter to thank, brings to screens this time an original screenplay that she wrote. Magalie Lépine-Blondeau slips into the skin of Sophia, a 40-year-old philosophy professor who has been living quietly in a relationship with a political science professor for 10 years, despite a dormant sex life that neither she nor the other complains about. However, Sophia’s life changes the day she meets Sylvain, a Laurentian entrepreneur at the antipode of her way of life, with whom she will share a burning passion. Among others, Pierre-Yves Cardinal, Francis-William Rhéaume, Steve Laplante and Marie-Ginette Guay show their talent.
“It’s a comedy by Quebec Chokrian! ‘ commented Delegate General Thierry Frémaux on his choice.
The 76th Cannes Film Festival takes place from May 16th to 27th.
