The Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) was alerted at around 9:30 p.m. after a shot was fired at a vehicle at a petrol station on Boulevard de Maisonneuve, near Rue Saint-Thimotée.
When they arrived at the scene, police found no victims, but shell casings were found on the ground and bullet holes were visible in a commercial building, according to the SPVM.
Later that night, the victim went to a hospital to be treated for a foot wound caused by a gun, SPVM spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant said.
The victim will be picked up by SPVM investigators later in the day while the crime scene was protected by a security perimeter to allow the police investigation to proceed, Mr Brabant said, adding that no suspect has been stopped for the time being.
