A 43-year-old man remains in critical condition in hospital after he was stabbed in an apartment in Montreal’s Lachine neighborhood overnight Monday into Tuesday.
Montreal police were alerted just before midnight to a man who may have been stabbed at a home on Louis-Paré Street near 30th Avenue.
On site, police officers and paramedics from Urgences santé provided assistance to the victim, who was visibly seriously injured in the upper and lower body by a blunt object.
He was taken to a hospital where he remains in critical condition.
A 31-year-old woman was arrested by police and taken to an investigation center, where she was met by investigators to find out her involvement in this attack.
The causes and circumstances of this attack are currently unclear, said Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) spokeswoman Jeanne Drouin.
The crime scene was protected by a security perimeter while awaiting the arrival of investigators and the forensic identification technician who must shed light on the incident, it said.
