The emergency services were informed by an emergency call at around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday about the incident, which had just occurred on Rue Charles-de-LaTour, near Rue Chabanel Ouest and in the area of Cité de la Mode. in Ahuntsic-Cartierville County.
“On scene, police determined that at least one projectile had struck the store’s facade,” said Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM).
“According to the information, the suspect(s) fled in a vehicle before the police arrived,” she said.
There were three people in the store when the shots were fired, but no one was injured. It is not known whether these people or the operator of the company in question were targeted and what motive triggered the crime.
“At the moment the causes and circumstances of this event are unknown. At night the dog team was used to search for clues. Forensic identification technicians were also on scene analyzing the crime scene,” said Officer Drouin.
The security perimeter was lifted in the area before dawn, but the SPVM investigation continues.
