Montreal: A man was reportedly injured by bullets

On Saturday evening, a man was shot and injured on Place Jacques-Cartier in the Ville-Marie district, according to the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

At around 7:55 p.m., the SPVM received calls about numerous shots.

“When the patrol officers arrived at the scene, they treated a 31-year-old man with serious injuries to his upper body,” said Julien Lévesque, SPVM PR officer. He was treated by paramedics and quickly rushed to a hospital center in the Montreal area.

“He was conscious during his transport in the ambulance,” Mr Lévesque added.

A security perimeter was established to allow investigators, assisted by a dog handler, to analyze the scene and understand the circumstances surrounding events.
