A fire broke out at a restaurant in the Plateau-Mont-Royal neighborhood of Montreal on Tuesday morning.
The Montreal Fire Department was called around 4:15 a.m. to a fire at the first floor of a two-story building on Saint-Laurent Boulevard near Prince-Arthur Street West.
Fifty SIM firefighters dispatched to the scene quickly brought the blaze under control after evacuating residents on the upper floors.
No one was injured and the fire did not spread to the entire building, which SIM says could allow tenants to return to their apartments.
SIM investigators should be on site to try to determine the origin of this fire, which is currently unknown.
