A 30-year-old driver was arrested after causing a collision in which his vehicle crashed into a low wall of a Société de transport de Montréal (STM) building in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville district on Tuesday night.
The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) was alerted by a 911 call shortly before midnight about an accident on Beauharnois Street East near Saint-Laurent Boulevard.
Police on scene found a vehicle embedded in the building located on a cul-de-sac while the driver, who was alone on board, fled before their arrival.

According to witnesses the police met, the vehicle was traveling east on Rue Beauharnois Ouest at high speed before crashing head-on into the low wall of the building.
The suspect was quickly located by police, who then arrested him for driving under the influence, the SPVM said.
The 30-year-old was taken to the detention center to undergo an alcohol test, according to SPVM spokeswoman Véronique Dubuc, who stated that no one was injured.
