Montreal kicks off its artistic season

The Montreal Arts Council (CAM) on tour has resumed service in the boroughs of Montreal and related cities, offering more than 80 artistic projects across the island.

A total of 481 performances from 81 artistic projects will be brought to life this year in the Maisons de la Culture, the performance halls, libraries, churches, as well as markets, alleys and parks. In this way, the Council wants to meet new target groups and make art accessible.

Circus arts, street arts, digital arts, visual arts, cinema, dance, literature, music, theater and interdisciplinary artistic practices are planned for the cultural season ending June 30, 2023.

The CAM awarded $1,914,000 to the 52 participating artistic organizations and 23 collectives (or visual artists).

The latter were selected on the basis of a call for applications for the 2022-2023 program published last February and on the basis of their creativity, professionalism and innovation. A second call for applications will be published on September 15 for the 2023-2424 program.

The Maisons de la culture de Montréal and the Association of Cultural Diffusers of the Island of Montreal (ADICÎM) are partners of the CAM in this project.
