A 19-year-old man finally succumbed to his injuries after being run over by a pick-up truck while lying on the roadway in Montreal early Tuesday morning.

The Montreal Police Service confirmed his death at the hospital this afternoon.
“According to initial information, the van-style vehicle was traveling on Sainte-Émilie Street and would have turned north on Saint-Augustin Street and then the van would have struck the victim who was lying in the middle of the street.” had previously indicated the agent Caroline Chèvrefils of the SPVM.
The driver, a 53-year-old man, was not injured.
Police were called to the scene around 4:45 a.m., where they found the young man lying on the roadway unconscious and seriously injured.
A fence was erected between rue Notre-Dame and rue Saint-Ambroise, and rue Saint-Augustin and rue Sainte-Émilie between rue Turgeon and rue Maria in the Sud-Ouest district were closed.
Investigations are underway to clarify the circumstances of the collision.
