With the release of Moon Knight just around the corner (end of the month), Marvel is teasing us again with new drops of information. On Thursday, they released new posters featuring many images of Oscar Isaac in the Moon Knight costume and a new short film.
The interview snippets don’t offer much new information, especially if you’re already familiar with who Moon Knight is (a veteran with dissociative identity disorder who becomes the conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu after a near-death experience). But they offer a look at behind-the-scenes footage and some new footage from the show, such as Mark/Stephen in Egypt (allegedly) and more about the skull-headed god Khonshu.
Isaac also says he sees Moon Knight as a “serious character study” of one of Marvel’s darkest heroes.
“Our job was to look at the things that were the most dramatic,” Isaac says in the short. “And finally, take the mental health aspect very seriously.”

Among the new footage we’re getting, Isaac falls as Steven, but falls to the ground as Mr. Knight. The pale suit and white mask he lands in is one of Moon Knight’s many phases that Marvel has also been teasing in their new posters.
Mae Calamawi, who plays Layla on the show, calls Moon Knight’s tone “Fight Club meets Indiana Jones,” which is a pretty convincing mashup if Disney can pull it off. Ethan Hawke, who played Arthur Harrow, says, “Every aspect of this series is dualistic, and we’ve changed the paradigm.”
Moon Knight is written by Jeremy Slater (The Umbrella Academy) and directed by Mohamed Diab (Ameera). After Moon Knight, Disney Plus will also get She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, and Ms. Marvel (due this summer), as well as a second season of What If…? and a series of “I’m Groot” shorts.
Moon Knight premieres March 30 on Disney Plus. Thereafter, a new episode of the six-episode season airs every Wednesday.
