The Halifax Mooseheads have three players who have already accumulated more than 100 points in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) this season, a first since 2005-2006.

Last season, L’Île-Bizard native Jordan Dumais kept the Nova Scotia team’s offense at bay. He had 109 points in 68 games, 21 points more than his most prolific teammate Elliot Desnoyers.
It’s a very different story in 2022-2023. The Mooseheads have three of the QMJHL’s top four goalscorers thanks to the acquisitions of Blainville-Boisbriand Armada’s Josh Lawrence and Val-d’Or Foreurs’ Alexandre Doucet.
Dumais, a Columbus Blue Jackets third-round pick, leads the league with 122 points, including 48 goals, in 58 games. Doucet, 21, leads the league with 52 goals and 102 points. Finally, Lawrence, who is also in his final year of eligibility for the Quebec Circuit, amassed 43 goals and 100 points.
The only other QMJHL player to achieve this milestone is St. Louis Blues’ Zachary Bolduc of the Quebec Remparts.
Hot on the heels of the Red Devils in first place in the Eastern Conference, the Mooseheads have a lucky hand with their three-headed monster. In their last game against the Moncton Wildcats, they fielded Doucet, Dumais and Lawrence in three different squads.
You’ll have to go back to the 2005-2006 season to see another trio of equally dominant forwards in the QMJHL. With the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, former Montreal Canadiens member David Desharnais had amassed 118 points in 63 games…a good harvest for his team’s third-place finish. Stanislav Lascek (135 points) and Maxime Boisclair (130 points) did better.
