Morat’s second concert in Caracas ended amid criticism and controversy

Morat performed in Caracas for the first time over the weekend. He played two sold out shows on Saturday and Sunday. The first day of the concert went normally, the atmosphere was festive and well organized; while the second, expected to be equal or better, an incident marked the end of the day: someone passed a gun.

At the end of the concert, a girl in the audience held up a sign that read, “Please, Martín, give me a drumstick.” This is Victoria P who shared it on her account Twitter his unfortunate experience on the show.

“Well what was supposed to be the best night of my life sucked. Today I was at the Morat concert at the CCCT. Enjoy and sing with my friends until I was hoarse and everything seemed incredible and when the best day of my life was projected,” he began to share.

Before leaving the stage, Martín Vargas, the group’s drummer, threw his drumstick to the public where Victoria was with her banner. After the fall, a fight for the instrument began among those present. “Don’t do it, it’s not worth it,” a friend of Victoria’s told her boyfriend when she saw that one of the people, a woman, had drawn a gun.

So far, the identity of the woman who carried the gun is unknown, but there has been speculation on networks that it could be an escort.

“She aimed it straight at my friend in the head NOBODY ABSOLUTELY NOBODY HOLDED HER Agte Live. Between fights my friend got two bites, a friend got a cachazo and I got a pain in the face,” Victoria tweeted.

Shortly thereafter, security officers approached the scene of the incident to get the situation under control. The young woman also denounced that no National Police officers were present at the event.

“IT IS NOT FAIR that they are requiring that you don’t even come in with a POWERBANK and someone is inside with a RIFLE,” Victoria said.

On the first day of the concert, Saturday March 26, security seemed to be on the lookout for every item found in the bags. They brought back people carrying bottles of alcohol and bottles of water. Those who did not want to return could leave the items in a black bag before entering.

Upon learning of the unfortunate incident, Morat posted a message on his Twitter account, assuring that as a group they reject any manifestation of violence and stressing that they will always try to turn their concerts into safe spaces.

“Although we are sorry for what happened, we will not let this event cloud our memory of playing in Venezuela for the first time because we had an incredible time. Thank you for having us Venezuela! Incredible concerts!” they concluded.

Agte Live, producer of the concert, has not yet commented on what happened yesterday; However, Victoria assured that they had contacted her to let her know they were taking charge of the situation. “The Agte Live board has already contacted me and told me that they are doing everything they can to resolve the situation and address it as an isolated event that does not cloud Morat’s shows,” said the young woman.

Morat visited Caracas as part of his Where Are We Going tour, which has taken the group to Spain, Mexico, the United States, Uruguay, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Colombia. Ticket sales for the show were announced in the second week of January. And on the first day of presale, tickets sold out within 24 hours, so a second function had to be opened. It wasn’t for less. This would be one of the first concerts in the country by an international artist after many years and, moreover, it would mark the beginning of the 2022 show season that Alejandro Fernández, reggaeton player Sech, has already brought with him and who awaits in the coming months the Singer -Songwriter Kanny García, the group Cultura Profética and Emmanuel.
