More March Madness! Miami knocks out FINALE No. 1 seed Houston 89-75 … as no top-ranked team reaches Elite Eight for the first time in STORY

The No. 5-seeded Miami Hurricanes upset the No. 1-seeded Houston Cougars 89-75 in an NCAA history moment.

Houston’s loss marks the first time in NCAA history that no No. 1-seeded team advanced to the Elite Eight round of the tournament.

The Hurricanes play the winner of Xavier vs. Texas in the Elite Eight.

Miami, who finished the season 28-7, became only the fifth team this season to score at least 70 points against Houston, who finished the season 33-4.

The No. 5 Hurricanes advanced to a regional final for the second straight season just hours after Miami’s No. 9-seeded women’s team held out to beat Villanova and advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time. Miami and UConn are the only schools with teams remaining in both tournaments.
