The station announces it is adding about 60 NHL games a year by airing even more doubles programs and late-night games.

The L’Après-Match LNH program gives way to 9:30 p.m., 10:00 p.m. or 10:30 p.m. NHL games during the week, allowing for more regular viewing of players playing in other time zones such as Connor McDavid, Jonathan Huberdeau, Nathan MacKinnon, Philip Danault, Jack Eichel, Trevor Zegras and many others.

“We’re listening to the fans asking for more and more NHL games. We’ve already initiated a shift to make live events the cornerstone of our programming, and this change is part of that direction. In addition, in 2023, TVA Sports will present more than 400 ice hockey games that have never been seen in Quebec,” says Louis-Philippe Neveu, general manager of the sports channel.

The Saturday LNH Aftergame show, presented after the Montreal Canadiens games, returns and continues to be hosted by Dave Morissette. The popular host will also attend key NHL events including the All-Star Game, the Playoffs and the Stanley Cup Finals.

In addition, fans can catch Elizabeth Rancourt starting December 31 in Saturday night hockey entertainment when the Canadiens take on the Capitals in Washington and at weekday games. Before co-hosting The NHL Postgame, Elizabeth covered the Canadiens for several years.

The chain’s chief executive adds that members of the teams affected by these programming changes will be reassigned to other TVA Sports and TVA Productions.

Recall that TVA Sports also confirmed on Tuesday that it had been chosen as the official broadcaster of Euro 2024 and 2028. According to Mr. Neveu, several other live event announcements are planned for January.
